George Best Foundation - Welcome to the George Best Foundation

The unprecedented public support following George’s death in 2005, led to the creation of the George Best Foundation. The charity’s aims were chosen specifically to recognise aspects of George’s life, football and alcohol related issues.

We want to help give young people the unique opportunity to develop life skills, through the power of football and sport and as part of social inclusion programmes, many of which include vital drug and alcohol awareness education. The Foundation also provides funds for medical research and in particular, illnesses caused by alcohol misuse. MORE>>
